BBQ Turkey Sloppy Joes Recipe

Turkey Sloppy Joes are a 30-minute midweek meal. Ground turkey, onion, dried herbs, tomato sauce, and brown sugar BBQ sauce make it sweet and tangy. Sweet and smokey sloppy joes are fantastic for kids and adults.   

– 1 tablespoon olive oil – 1 lb ground turkey – 1 small onion finely chopped – 1 green pepper finely chopped – 1 teaspoon kosher salt – 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce – 1/2 cup brown sugar BBQ sauce – 1 teaspoon brown sugar – 1 teaspoon onion powder – 1 teaspoon garlic powder – ½ teaspoon chili powder – ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Put olive oil, ground turkey, onion, green pepper, and salt in a big skillet pan. Set the heat to medium-high.

Break up the ground turkey and cook it until it's done and no longer pink. Drain it. Seasonings, tomato sauce, and BBQ sauce should all be mixed in.

Step 2

Turn down the heat to medium and let it cook for 10 minutes.   Put it on top of hamburger buns or any other rolls you like.

You can also toast the hamburger buns and serve with a slice of cheese.
